Hyundai Eon launches in India from around £3.5k
No, reasonable though it would be to assume so, the Hyundai Eon is not a new electric car, but it is Hyundai’s answer to the best-selling small car in India – the Suzuki Alto. Launched on the back of a 900 Crore investment by Hyundai in development and production for the Eon (a Crore is 10 million Rupees, so that’s about £125 million) the Eon is a big push by Hyundai to make a big dent in the burgeoning Indian market. The Eon comes with an 814cc 3-pot 55bhp petrol engine – which won’t exactly have Indian buyers flying along at breakneck speeds – and offers properly decent styling, rather than the toy car styling of something like the Tata Nano.
LEWIS HAMILTON knows he needs another run of four successive victories if he is to overhaul team-mate Nico Rosberg in the race for this year's Formula One world title. It is a feat Hamilton managed earlier this campaign after Mercedes rival Rosberg won the season-opening grand prix in Australia where the Briton retired. 2012 Ford EcoSport - Delhi debut
Ford’s new compact SUV – the Ford EcoSport – has been revealed at the Delhi Motor Show in concept guise ahead of a Summer launch. We first revealed the new Ford EcoSport was likely to be revealed at this month’s Delhi Motor Show early last month, after an over-eager web tech posted details on Ford’s India site by mistake. And we were right – the Ford EcoSport has now debuted in India in concept form ahead of a production release later this year.
